Events | Customizable guest limits and improved RSVP management in the event tool
E
Eric Eaton
We’ve encountered some challenges with this tool that are making it difficult for us to use effectively for our client events. While we initially saw great potential, there are several limitations that, if addressed, would significantly improve the experience.
First, the guest limit per invitee is fixed at 3, which doesn’t align with our needs. This should be customizable so we can set our own limits based on the specific event, ranging from 0 to a number greater than 3 but still manageable. For instance, our current event allows for a guest +1, but clients received invites allowing up to 3 guests, leading to confusion and additional follow-up.
Second, there’s no option for guests to RSVP “No” if they can’t attend, which forces them to email us directly. Adding this option would streamline communication and reduce manual follow-up.
Lastly, we need a way to remove attendees who’ve informed us they can’t make it from the reminder emails. Currently, even those who have declined are still receiving reminders, which could be avoided with better email list management.
We believe these adjustments would enhance the tool’s functionality and better support our event management needs.

I'm requesting a similar ask - I would like the ability to add additional fields for when people RSVP - First Name, Last Name (rather than Full Name), City and State.

Increase the number of additional attendees

This team would love for the number of additional attendees for event registration to be increased. It currently only allows up to 3 additional attendees, and for family events, they need to use a 3rd party for registration since most of their clients' families have 4+ people in them, and tickets are required for all family members.

RSVP yes and no for an event. In 2023 I attempted to use the event planning tools for FMG. Because of the confusion, clients RSVP'd both yes and no to the event, which meant they got email reminders even when they weren't coming. This year (2024) I refused to use this again because there has been no changes. Please, please prioritize improvements to event planning, even if it means buying another company that does it well.

I am shocked that 18 months since the initial post, there have been 0 changes to events.

Add additional numbers for the amount of guests attending

The client Frances Weant - 370785 - Margaret Suite-Arnold - Victory Wealth Management would like the amount of additional guests attending to go higher than 3. She is having to use the message section of the invitation for attendees to add any guests that exceed the number of 3, and then check her emails for the correct tally creating more manual work than needed.

-Add ability to cap RSVPs allowed at a certain number
-Add ability to customize "additional" RSVPs so 1 spouse can register for themselves and their spouse...but no more (currently 0-3 is the only option...we want ONLY 1 to be an option)
-Add ability to enter the name of the additional RSVPs
-Export with the message section (currently have to go digging through the inbox to find these)

Allow clients to RSVP, both yes and no.

By allowing clients to RSVP yes and no, we can followup on those that have shown interest by sending out materials after an event.

Events: invitees should be able to either opt in or out of an event; those who opt out need to be excluded from the next round of messaging in the automated campaign.
